YouTube CNN Democratic Debate

This evening was the YouTube CNN Democratic Debate. The format of this debate was that the questions were not posed by CNN and the media yet Americans who made video questions and submitted them on YouTube. The idea behind the debate is a great concept yet somewhat of a gimmick. Nearly all the questions posed were avoided very well. Mike Gravel seems to be the only candidate that will stand up for something he really believes in that is different than anyone else.

Some of the most important topics that came up were Universal Health Care systems, educational reform, and tax reform. I like these discussions a lot more than debating the war in Iraq over and over. The Universal Health Care will not happen in the near future unfortunately because of the problems with the Social Security that needs to be solved first. It is a good campaigning tactic but should be taken with a grain of salt. The biggest change that will happen under democratic rule will be getting rid of the no child left behind act. This was wrong in the first place and the only thing it helps do is to contain the smarter kids because there are no ways to expand them to their potential.

The questions posed by YouTube users were very well thought out and informative. There were a couple that were ridiculous and I wonder why CNN would let them on. The gun control question was unnecessary and the questions making the candidates say one good thing and one bad thing about the candidate next to them. Overall was a good debate but did have some faults. I'm getting very disappointed with the democratic candidates because they don't seem to want to stand up for anything and all just go along with everyone else in their party. It is what I have to live with for now.

10 Ways to Improve Your Life NOW

I'm finally back after a huge amount of time off from the blog. I lost some belief but now its back. I'll get back into and hope I can get some more posts up.

Ten Ways to Improve your Life

1. Stop Jumping to Conclusions. Humans can't read minds now matter how hard you try.

2. Don't Dramatize. Keep It Real.

3. Don't Invent Rules. You aren't 5 years old anymore.

4. Don't stereotype or label otheres. Well who hasn't heard that one.

5. Quit being a Perfectionist. You'll ruin your life looking for perfection.

6. Don't over generalize.

7. Don't take things so personally. They probably aren't talking about you.

8. Don't Assume your emotions are Trustworthy.

9. Don't let Life get you down. Keep being optimistic.

10. Don't hang onto the past. Let it go. Just let it go.

Great list I found and added my own annoying comments to. Found it over at Lifehack.org. Like I said after #2, you just have to Keep it Real.
